Live, Laugh, Wash, Repeat

If your family is like most families, your laundry room is one of the busiest rooms in the house. Large and small families are constantly over-working their washer and dryer, especially during the school year. The harder your washer and dryer have to work, the more money and energy you waste. When washing clothes you should use the high-speed spin cycle, which takes more moisture out of your clothes. This results in less time for your clothes to spend in the dryer, which saves money and energy. As an added bonus, a shorter drying time saves your clothes from heat damage, which means your favorite pair of jeans will last even longer.

While you are give your laundry room so love, don’t forget about the lint filter on the dryer. If you wait too long, you could be wasting money, energy and putting your house at risk for a potential dryer fire. Remember to clean lint screen between loads to maximize air circulation and energy efficiency. If you’re drying material with higher cotton content, clean the filter more frequently.  Create a habit of checking before the filter before every load to keep your clothes clean and family safe.
